The primary objectives of this discussion include:
- To impart knowledge of research-based best practices for the assessment and remediation of children with executive functioning deficits as manifested in autistic spectrum disorder (ASD).
- To hare the most current, research-based academic and behavioral interventions to support children with executive functioning deficits and autistic spectrum disorder in the classroom.
- To facilitate interactive discussion among presenter and attendees in order for participants to feel empowered by their existing and new knowledge, simultaneously being inspired by ideas from colleagues and moving forward to implement and grow practical strategies upon leaving the workshop.
Mary Joann Lang RN, PhD, ABPN, BCBA-D, is founder/CEO of Beacon Day School for Children with Autism and Related Disorders, Beacon Autistic Spectrum Independence Center (in-home therapy), and founder/executive director of Beacon Life Project (nonprofit). Dr. Lang was a professor at Azusa Pacific University, Department of Counseling and School Psychology.
