Convention 2017 General Session


Couldn’t attend CASP Convention 2017’s general session? Attend it now. This video will bring you back to October, when Keynote Speaker Shaun Harper, president of the Association for the Study of Higher Education and USC professor, spoke about how to work toward racial equity in California schools. Also featured is CASP President Dr. Pedro Olvera as he presents his presidential address, and longtime board members Barbara Thomas and Glenn Schumacher are honored for their years on the board. Shaun Harper, Ph.D., Professor of Education, Africana Studies, and Gender Studies Executive Director, Center for the Study of Race and Equity in Education, USC. Dr. Harper is the current president of the Association for the Study of Higher Education and an elected member of the American Educational Research Association executive council. In 2015, Harper was named to the advisory council of the My Brother’s Keeper Alliance, an initiative launched by President Barack Obama to improve the lives of boys and young men of color.
