Sacramento, CA – August 6, 2025 – The California Association of School Psychologists (CASP) has released an updated Code of Ethics for school psychologists. Led by Ethics Committee Gina Beaman, PsyD. and Co-Chair, Immediate Past-President, Melissa Wood, M.Ed., the 10-member committee made important updates and key additions.
Formerly known as the CASP Code of Ethics, the newly renamed California Association of School Psychologists Code of Ethical Conduct features a restructured format and includes expanded guidance on telehealth practices. Additionally, the document introduces new guidance on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in both practice and training.
Beaman reflected on the importance of these significant changes: “This updated Code reflects
the future of our industry; this version is clearer, more accessible, and responsive to emerging
issues like AI. I’m proud to be part of a profession that evolves with integrity.”
