Sacramento, CA – October 9, 2025 – The California Association of School Psychologists (CASP) is pleased to announce that Governor Gavin Newsom signed AB 606 into law on October 6, 2025. The bill, authored by Assemblymember Quirk-Silva and co-sponsored by CASP, advances systematic reforms to help address California’s critical shortage of Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential holders, specifically those specializing in school psychology, school counseling, and school social work.
