As technology becomes increasingly central to psychoeducational assessment, school psychologists are expected to navigate complex tools that support accurate, equitable, and theory‑driven interpretation. X‑BASS 3.0, developed by Dr. Dawn Flanagan, Dr. Sam Ortiz, and Dr. Vincent Alfonso, offers a powerful platform for organizing cross‑battery data and applying CHC theory through automated calculations and interpretive frameworks. Yet many practitioners report difficulty translating the software’s capabilities into confident, efficient practice.
This session provides a structured, practitioner‑friendly walkthrough of X‑BASS 3.0, emphasizing how to use the program to support culturally and linguistically responsive assessment. Participants will learn how to apply CHC theory within the software, interpret results using the Culture‑Language Interpretive Matrix (C‑LIM), and extend their analysis using the CLIM+ATE framework to better evaluate the impact of cultural, linguistic, and experiential factors on test performance. Through a guided, step‑by‑step demonstration using a theoretical case, attendees will practice entering data, reviewing outputs, and integrating findings into a strengths‑based, legally defensible PSW interpretation.
