This workshop is designed help participants know what is required for a successful school psychology internship that will prepare you to land your first job. CASP and NASP best practice guidelines for internship, the role of the intern and the role of the supervisor, and suggestions for negotiating the experience you need and the compensation you deserve will be provided.


Amy Balmanno, MS, NCSP, LEP, has been a school psychologist for 20 years.  She currently has a private practice in Fresno, CA, and provides university supervision to interns at Fresno Pacific University.  She serves as the CASP Convention and Awards Chair and previously served as the Region III Representative.  She also served on the California Department of Education’s Dyslexia Guidelines Committee.


Nelarie Romo, Ed.S, M.A., NCSP, LEP, has been a bilingual school psychologist for the past 8 years. She is currently a lead school psychologist for a school district in the central valley, and has taught courses at Brandman University. She has served on the the CASP board in multiple roles, including Affiliate Representative and past Virtual Services Chair. She has also served as the re-founding affiliate president for her local affiliate.
