Dr. Guenther is a Psychotherapist, Certified Positive Psychologist, and Licensed Educational Psychologist.

Dr. Guenther specializes in human-centric approaches to learning and performance, including in activating approaches to prepare, support, and help individuals in making strategic changes for the enhancement of their health, wellness, wellbeing, and success. In particular, she offers psychological services for individuals whose symptoms are negatively impacting their ability to learn across their lifespan and to access, participate in, and progress in their education and/or career.

Dr. Guenther is deeply familiar with the diagnosis and treatment of: Anxiety Disorders; Depressive Disorders; Neurodevelopmental Disorders (such as: Intellectual Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder, Specific Learning Disorder); Trauma and Stressor Related Disorders (such as: Reactive Attachment Disorder, Adjustment Disorders); Cluster B Personality Disorders (such as: Borderline Personality Disorder, Histrionic Personality Disorder, Narcissistic Personality Disorder); and Cluster C Personality Disorders (such as: Avoidant Personality Disorder, Dependent Personality Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder).

Education

Dr. Guenther has obtained Bachelor, Master, Specialist, and Doctoral degrees in the field of psychology. Following completing her Bachelor, Master, and Specialist degrees at Centre College and Miami University, where she specialized in Trauma & Recovery, she earned her doctoral degree at Indiana University, where she specialized in the Neuropsychology of Behavior and Learning and served as a Clinic Supervisor.

Dr. Guenther has completed additional graduate coursework and workshops at Brown University, Georgetown University, Princeton University, and Stanford University.

Dr. Guenther has trained and practiced in the Midwest, Northeast, and West Coast. Dr. Guenther has served clients in hospital inpatient programs, partial hospitalization programs, mental health clinics, mental health centers, educational service centers, educational agencies, business settings, and private practice.

Dr. Guenther is licensed in California under the Board of Behavioral Sciences (License Number 4183) and in Ohio under the Board of Psychology (License Number 611). Additionally, she earned her certification as a Designing Your Life Coach under the guidance of Bill Burnett and Dave Evans, renowned creators of the Life Design Lab program at Stanford University.

Dr. Guenther’s career spans more than 18 years, and during that time, she has completed more than 2,800 psychological evaluations, neuropsychological evaluations, and psychoeducational evaluations.

Dr. Guenther is an active member of the American Psychological Association, California Psychological Association, and Ohio Psychological Association, as well as the National Association of School Psychologists. She enjoys presenting original research and workshops at state and national professional and scientific conventions. At Miami University, Dr. Guenther taught undergraduate courses and graduate courses including but not limited to: Abnormal Psychology; Behavioral Interventions, Theory, Principles, and Techniques; and Education of Individuals with Exceptionalities.
