This training is for LEPs and other healthcare providers licensed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) who deliver mental health services to clients via telehealth. This presentation will touch upon the key points of telehealth service delivery to ensure that telehealth services continue to provide high-quality care to clients. Emphasis will be on the importance of best practices, technical considerations, ethical and legal issues, and HIPAA and CMIA compliance. Other areas such as addressing client risk factors, how NASP and CASP ethical codes apply, and protocols necessary to ensure clients receive appropriate and timely care in the event of an emergency will also be discussed.

Speakers

Dr. Gina Beaman has a Psy.D. in Educational Psychology. She is an LEP, an LMFT, has a PPSC and is a Certified Learning Disability Specialist for the California Community Colleges. She has worked professionally in the field of mental health and school psychology for over 26 years. She is currently a practicing School Psychologist in the Southern California area, working in a K-8 school district. Dr. Beaman has extensive knowledge and experience working with multiple age ranges in a variety of settings, including County of San Bernardino Dept. of Behavioral Health, Kaiser Permanente Mental Health, and Antelope Valley Community College, Office for Students with Disabilities. She also is in private practice, where she focuses her energy on assessments for college-level students who seek accommodations in the class, assessments for accommodations for high-stakes testing for adults and high school students who are ready to take the ACT or SAT, and assessments for entrance into Gifted and Talented programs.

LMFTs/LCSWs/LPCCs/LEPs: This course meets the qualifications for 3 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs/LCSWs/LPCCs/LEPs licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. NCSPs: The course meets the qualifications for 3 hours of Continuing Professional Development for Nationally Certified School Psychologists, under Provider Number 1025, licensed by the National Association of School Psychologists. CASP is responsible for the content of this workshop.
