Position Description
Under the supervision of the Head of Special Education Services, the Special Education Supervisor for Psychological Services functions as central office administrator and system of support for the District’s school psychology department. This position will have a special focus on supporting school psychologists in completing special education evaluations impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic via the District’s Assessment Center as well as in our schools.
This position supports the development of inclusive educational services, coordinates with other departments and divisions to enhance available educational services, and to provide support in meeting district, state, and federal accountability requirements through innovative approaches and models. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee the completion of psychoeducational evaluations via the District’s Assessment Center and school site assigned staff
Supervise school psychologist staff (90+ school psychologists); advise school psychologists on best practices regarding assessment and special education law; support staff on culturally sensitive and equitable practices
Collaborate with other District departments on District-wide programming on MTSS/tiers of intervention within the general education environment
Recruit, interview and hire new school psychologists and interns; monitor staffing; provide onboarding/orientation for new hires
Supervise and conduct performance evaluations for credentialed staff
Develop and co-lead monthly, full-day equity centered professional development day for department staff (100+ members); lead and establish agendas for monthly New Hire and DIS Provider meetings
Oversee caseloads for school psychologists and triage case/site assignments; process, manage, and assign out cases for centrally covered school sites
Manage, review and order test kits, protocols, and online databases; advise on purchasing of new assessment tools
Establish and evaluate district goals, priorities, processes, and systems for the effective delivery of inclusive, culturally and linguistically responsive pedogogy, systems, and tools, including those that serve language/ethnic diverse students with disabilities;
Partner with various agencies, outside assessors, and referral sources (e.g. Golden Gate Regional Center, local hospitals/clinics, private assessors, etc.)
Support implementation of Alternative Dispute Resolution between school site IEP teams and families.
Responsive to requirements of the California Department of Education
Other duties assigned by the Head of Special Education. 

Minimum Qualifications
Valid Administrative Services Credential
1+ years of school site or central office administrator experience

Desired Qualifications
Possession of a valid School Psychologist PPS credential;
Possession of a valid California Driver’s License;
Five (5) years of experience working as a school psychologist and/or teaching special education in schools serving underserved students;
Experience coaching and designing/facilitating professional development opportunities;
Experience with educational issues as they relate to accelerating the learning of linguistics, ethnic, and cultural minority student populations;
Demonstrated ability to work in collaborative teams that include parents/families and professionals;
Technologically literate;
Experience helping a school or district implement MTSS/RTI and/or PBIS;
Experience in the field of Mental Health, knowledge of Educationally Related Mental Health Services state legislation
Experience as a facilitator, coach, and/or presenter;
Autism/ABA experience preferred;
Bilingual/Biliterate. 

What We Offer
Base salary for a Supervisor begins at $$138,938.80. This position is contracted to work 224 work days.
